My very own Mariner number! Isn't that great!
Of course I've been sailing with them since '78, and regularly/frequently since '92. I've got 251 days in 16 cruises, and another 35-day cruise booked.
And I've had my very own Mariner Number since whenever.

Now I've got two of 'em!
I'll sell one to the highest bidder. Someone new to HAL will be able to go to the Mariners' Party and get a free drink.

Or do I get two free drinks if I keep both numbers?

Ruth,

You may want to give it a second thought. I just learned from HAL that the penalty for selling your mariner number is loss of all chocolate privileges.:p

Ruth, when I read the title of this thread I thought for sure that you were going to say that HAL sent you your very own set of keys to YOUR Rotterdam!!!!!!!!!! :)

Are you SURE you don't want to join us on the Zaandam in 2 weeks??

I too got my second number just recently!!! :D Must be cause we are sooooo special Ruth! I attributed mine to my name change after my marriage although I had previously contacted the Mariners rep about the name change. Frankly I think it should entitle us to 2 chocolates on the pillow and 2 tiles per cruise!!:p

I got a new Mariner number a while ago, couple of years maybe. I had one that was easy to remember, which was good in case the CD announced a prize for the first person to get to the stage with his/her number. Now I've got some random set of figures.

Evidently, the person who used to be in charge of checking ID in the bars (and at the aft pool) has now been kicked upstairs to Mariner administration! :)

That's it, localady. It's because we're special. That's our story and we're sticking with it. ;)

I think I've decided not to tell HAL about it, and I'll just keep the second number. That way no one at headquarters will be sent back to checking I.D.'s in bars for goofing up. (Wouldn't want to be the reason someone loses their job. :()

Plus! That way I can get two chocolates (don't want to risk losing chocolate privileges  ), and two drinks at the Mariners' Party. :)

Now if that number comes up tonight on PowerBall I'll be all set. :D

We got new numbers too. I wondered about it - thought maybe they made a mistake. :)

Hey Ruth, you don't need two Mariner numbers to get extra chocolates, you already have a source for all the chocolate you want just by asking!!!

Still have the same old numbers.

But, I am wondering, with getting new numbers, will this screw up the days towards the awards? Some days will be registered on one number while other days will be registered on the new numbers.

KK-

I would think that if you note your original Mariner number on your immigration questionnaire, that it should be fine. I really doubt they check all those days prior to awarding a new level anyway, it appears to be an "honor" system.

Don't want to be a wet blanket but if you have two Mariner numbers in HAL's computer syetem perhaps all of your activity will not be in the same place and when the upgrade fairy looks for active cruisers to upgrade you might miss out. But then again the fairy might think you are two separate people and you double your chances for upgrades.

Can a fairy use a computer? I thought they were afraid of mice.

I've been wondering if I now count as two people when booking, and won't be charged the single supplement.

Well! It could happen! Couldn't it?

Well. darn it Ruth! We didn't get new numbers! Our TA has our numbers on file, so I wonder if you get a new one, it replaces the old one or what???

If Ruth got a key to "her" Rotterdam, and S7S didn't get a key to "her" Maasdam, there would have been a hell to pay *LOL*

:) :) :)

I had to email HAL to get the correct number of days added to my mariner account. They had me "split" between two different numbers for some strange reason. One one number I had 53 days, on the other, 41... weird.

Also, they assigned a new number for our Family. Anytime we cruised as a family - the days went to the entire group, which I didn't like. I told them to keep us all individual...
