Nicely sandwiched between National Review (eurodam 11-8-08) and The Nation (westerdam 12-14-08).

That is verrrrrrrry interesting .. you will be in the penalty period of Obama doesn't win .. and it will be a mess ... If he does .. celebrations all around!!!!
We were on the Oosterdam when they had the last one .. and believe me you needed to be very careful about your views ..if you weren't for Obama .. overboard would have been the preferred treatment.

Everything I have read relative to Air America is that it no longer exists. Advertisers will not buy time on a program that has very few listeners, and they had almost none!

I suspect they are all hanging out on cruise ships now ...

Cruzman you heard wrong. Air America is alive and well.

It may be alive, but it certainly is not well.
I can't imagine a worse way to spend a week, and it has nothing to do with my political views.

How much subsidy is the government going to put up for our cruise tickets.
If it isn't at least 80% I may have to sell some of my food stamps and use part of my welfare check to pay for the cruise....

The Nation Cruise? Air America Cruise? They are both put on by the same agency and the web pages are in the same format/color scheme. The pricing is very similar. Air America is on the Veendam - my first two HAL cruises were on the Veendam. The Nation is on the Westerdam - I prefer the S & R classes to the Vista.
The Nation goes to Aruba & Curacao (and HMC) - my favorite ports. Air America goes to Key West, Belize, Guatamala, and Costa Maya - all new ports for me. I'm familiar with most of the speakers on the Nation cruise, but not on the Air America cruise, except Ron Reagan (I don't listen to radio, due to a hearing handicap).
Both cruise prices include gratuities (a consideration) and both have late dining (my preference). Both have formal/informal/casual dress at dinner (ahh, from the good old days on HAL!). The double rate for the cabins is rather high, but the single supplement is very reasonable. All the suites on the Nation cruise are sold out - which doesn't affect me in the least.
My closest friend for the past 30 years is a Nation subscriber and AA listener, but he has never been on a cruise and isn't enthused about going on one. The AA cruise might conflict with his scheduled trip to Canada to see polar bears.
