 We don't need yet another! Still worried about ALL in the path of Ivan after its massive destruction to the Cayman Islands and Grenada.

Yet, here we go AGAIN! It's PATH looks way too familiar. :(

I'm about to have a tropical depression!!! We're supposed to be on the 9/25 Zui eastern carib cruise and this is just getting to be too much.

What really sux is the sailing that's out there now. It looks like this weather system is going to pass over St. Thomas & BVIs, plus Puerto Rico. I hope HAL has a back-up plan.
If it continues on the projected course, it will go over the Bahamas too.:(

For all those in the path of Ivan, I hope you are prepared & stay safe.

Hang in there guys! The conditions are ripe this year. There is a high pressure that's keeping all these storms from heading north into the Atlantic...so they are staying low and over warmer waters.

Here is a site that shows both Hurricane Ivan and Tropical Storm Jeannie, updated frequently: http://www.boatus.com/hurricanes/tracking.asp

Well, we're on the Z now, and we cut Tortula short by 4 hours, and left at 2:30 this afternoon. About 5ish, the captain announced we were skipping St. Thomas and going to St. Martin instead... and canceled San Juan. Its cloudy now, but nothing too bad. Getting hard to get sun though!

will update if I get a chance.

WOW!!! pretty soon there wont be anywhere else to sail to! Eastern seems to be out, and Western isn`t too good right now, pretty soon there`ll only be the Great Lakes left!!
BTW, thanks slinkie for the great link, its the best tracking site I`ve seen. Just wish the new TS wasn`t named Jeanne, too close to my name......jean

Thanks for posting live from the Zui as I'm sure others are concerned like I am. Have a good time and keep us updated if you can.:)

For all those in the path of Ivan and Jeanne, be prepared and stay safe.

Jean, it's the darnedest thing when they name a hurricane after you, even if they didn't know how to spell it. :d It's starting to look like another worry for us Floridians, isn't it? I have bookmarked that web site ever since Charley started threatening, and I check it several times a day since it's been one 'cane after another this past month!

I hope all our friends on the Zuiderdam will have an enjoyable cruise in spite of the change in route. Thanks for posting to us, Peter.

Slinkie, great site! Thanks! I'm writing small because I'm flying under the radar on the sly tonight:D .

Petermccue, I'm sure the Captain will keep you on a safe itinerary. Enjoy it! You're probably safer out there than here! Thanks for posting.

I hope everyone in the path of any of these hurricanes will be safe and follow all directions given. Ivan is a frightening storm ... huge. Just please take care of yourselves and if you can, get out of his way. This is a summer the south will not soon forget. I think we all feel a bit smaller in the face of these violent storms over which we have absolutely no control.

Good idea - You're nearly invisible as long as someone replies to your messages and you don't show up on the message list.

??? ... I'm confused, OCruisers, was there a problem with me posting here? Are you apologizing for my post wishing the Zuiderdam safe harbor and hoping everyone in Ivan's path stays safe from the oncoming storm?

Another site that has good info is www.accuweather.com (http://www.accuweather.com) They have been very accurate in their predictions further out than NOAA. They have been showing Ivan hitting on the Miss/AL border for the last trhee or four days while NOAA has had it from the tip of FL to NOLA and finally settled in on the same track as Accuweather.

Now for the bad news.... NOAA shows Jeanne turning Northward and missing FL. Accuweather shows it as following a path nearly identical to that of Frances. Lets hope that Accuweather is wrong on this one.
