Listed port time is to 11:00PM. What is there to do in the evening? The last time I was in St T there were no shops open at night, and virtually no night life. So what is there to do, if anything?

Not much, I'm afraid.

Let's see- go to a good local Caribbean restaurant and enjoy the island ambience and food, take a stroll in the harbor, sit on your verandah or in a deck chair on Promenade and enjoy the beautiful evening, relax with a tropical drink on deck, watch the lights of this beautiful island as you sail from the harbor? Sounds like a lovely way to spend an evening to me. :)

Is that changed on the HAL site? I think they have the Z in St Thomas until 11pm but maybe that's just for this week's cruise.

According to HAL at this time, the port changes of Tortola and St. Thomas are through the end of October (I believe they said 10/23), and they will resume the longer stay in St. Thomas after more ships return to the Caribbean. If you check the HAL site schedules this is indeed indicated on there. Happy Sailing!

You beat me to it Fit Heart - was just going to post what you had stated when your post appeared. :D
The new itinerary began sometime in July and is only in for a short period - end of October. I did post the reason for it back in July, but I have no idea where my post is now.

Even though you do not know where the post is, do you remember the reason?

It was due to all the ships that would be in port at the same time as HAL, so they switched port calls and we had few if any other ships while we were at these ports, that's what they told us on the Zuiderdam in Aug.
