Well if they are the same on all of the ships, its 75c per minute with a one time $3.95 connection fee. They have larger packages where the per minute charge comes down. Also during your cruise they will have specials announced in the daily program....jean

The charges are a little high but once one is "hooked" on the internet, we gladly pay.

If you bring your own laptop and wireless card it can be as little as forty cents per minute by purchasing the $100 block of time. Well worth the cost savings and it covered our last 15-day cruise to Hawaii.

Actually, you don't have to bring a lap-top to get the $0.40/minute charge. The packages are $100 for 250 minutes (which is $0.40/minute), or $55 for 100 minutes. The $3.95 set-up charge is additional on both plans, but is charged only once if you need to purchase additional plan time.

If I'm not mistaken, the advantage to bringing your own lap-top is minimizing online time. To receive e-mails just connect, download to your computer and read them off-line, after disconnecting. To send them, compose them in your room, connect to the internet, send them and get off line.
Of course, reading and posting on CC is another story.:D

In my personal experience with HAL internet cafe setup and equipment usage, when you use their PCs it takes several precious minutes just to get to your web based email account, costing more than it should.
With my laptop, I opened the laptop from suspend mode, awake in about 30 seconds, connected to the WiFi network, logged in and had my web based email account open in another 60 seconds.
