I'm a loyal cruiser that appreciates loyalty, but I've also lived by "Viva La Difference!" - Missouri -Show demeanor.

History: Ocean Princess P. Canal made me a 2-timer on her then Celeb Summit twice - an intervening shorty on Carnival Fantasy was port happy/ship yukky; then Golden Pr. in the med. I've been on decks over night (and inside) in pre-cruise int'l transit as a youth.

I've colleagues and family that are HAL loyal (albeit the non-Vista ships). The LOUD Vista-Carnivalesque carpet, etc. has me wondering. We had considered a smaller HAL ship.

I'm traveling with an extended family ranging from picky pains'n-bts
to half dozen children, to highly spirited but highly service demanding disabled seniors.

Truth or Consequences: A couple of years ago, CC had given me the impression that HAL was elderly friendly but disabled unfriendly (?) so on family get togethers we had avoided HAL. But the Vista class has MANY and larger disabled cabins. W've scored very good deals on those great - ? - stern cabin/suites.

I Expect to enjoy the cabin space, but dining... service... kid's space....

What's the word of the knowing...

I think you will love HAL. I've cruised everything that will float for more than 40 years and I have never found anyone who does "the whole thing" any better. HAL has been at this for 129 years and, while they may not be the best in any particular category, they run a very fine cruise.

I've found the food just fine. The staff has always been gracious for the most part, and the ships are top notch.....tastefully decorated, clean and relatively easy to negotiate. Depending on the time of year, you will most likely find people of all ages and dispositions. Not boring, but not a wild party either.

I honestly believe you will come away quite happy with your HAL cruise. I hope you and your family have a great time. DFD
