Has anyone used a taxi or water taxi to get from Topolobampo to Maviri Beach while in Topolobampo? HAL offers an excursion, but was wondering if anyone had done this independently. If so, how did you arrange it? Are there taxis near the dock? How did you get back to the ship? Would you do it again?

If you are not on a HAL excursion and are late back to the ship, good luck, plan on a long cab ride to the next port.

You would have to be REALLY late back to the ship seen as how it is probably sitting there until 10:30 - 11:00 at night:D .

Yes, there are taxis. But, if it is the beach we went to, HAL has a comp shuttle that runs there every hour or so.

We're there for 18 hours, hopefully we'd not be late!

Oh that's good info -- all I can find on the HAL site is the "Maviri Beach Getaway" or something similar. DH just wants a beach -- if HAL will comp us a trip to a beach, that's great! Was it suitable for swimming, where they took you?
