Can any one tell me if it is worth trying to book your next cruise whilst on board ship? Do Fred Olsen offer any sort of discount if you do this?

There are facilities on board to book but in my experience you will still get a better deal from a travel company. One thing I have done is to make a "Paper" booking whilst on board the ship and immediately on my return to the UK have reconfirmed it with my travel company thus getting the benefits of both organisations.

Thanks for the reply. Could you explain in a bit more detail what you mean by a "paper" booking?

thanks

Sorry, I should have said pencil booking. You receive an offer of a cruise on board with a time limit for acceptance. If your agent responds with the confirmation in good time then you will get both the cruise line's and agent's discounts. They are not keen on doing this but occasionally, especially if you are booking well in advance, you might be able to make such an arrangement. I wish you luck and happy sailing.
