Does any one know if the first night seating is our assinged tables or is it an open seating affair, also is it at our assinged hour. Thanks in advance. Ben

Yes, you will have your assigned time and table on the first night. When you arrive in your cabin you will find a card with the time and table number. If you go to the dinning room there is usually a chart displayed with the table numbers so you can see where you will be sitting.
Have a nice cruise.

Ditto, Gizmo, its been my experience on all my cruises that the first night your dinner is at your assigned time and table.

That is correct.
The only time that the first night is open seating is when the ships leave Seward.

Yes, you are usually escorted to your table on the first night.
The chart I referred to is available during the day so you can see where you are sitting.
