Just got my Mariner magazine yesterday. I remember seeing dexter's post about curing the blues - inside the magazine is a page listing "Four unique ways to see the sunny Caribbean"
4-day Bahamas, FLL R-T via MS Zuiderdam
FLL, Key West, Nassau, HMC, FLL
Inside=$399, Outside=$449, Verandah=$499
1/29/05, 2/8/05
5-day Bahamas, FLL R-T via MS Westerdam
FLL, Key West, Nassau, HMC, FLL
Inside=$449, Outside=$549, Verandah=$599
1/4/05
9-day Eastfarer, FLL R-T via MS Volendam
FLL, Nassau, St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados, HMC, FLL
Inside=$849, Outside=$1049, Verandah=$1449
1/15/05, 1/24/05
12-day Seafarer, Tampa R-T via MS Veendam
Tampa, San Juan, Tortola, Guadelope, Dominica, Barbados, St. Thomas, HMC, Tampa
Inside=$1169, Outside=$1369, Verandah=$1919
1/3/05
I tell you, this 12-day Veendam looks like a great trip for DH & I just to get away - he loves the Veendam so it wouldn't be hard persuading him, they all look good to me! ... also I wished we lived closer to FLL, look at that 5-day on the Westerdam!
Just thought I'd share for those of you in cruise withdrawal, these short itineraries are priced very well. :)

Thanks for sharing, ekerr. Seeing as we did not get a copy of the Mariners Magazine (again) I am happy to have the chance to read anything that is included in it.
We are booked for the 12 day Veendam cruise. It sounds wonderful, doesn't it?

Just received ours the other day, and of all things called our TA asking about the President's cruise.
We will be returning the last week of November from the Westerdam - 17 Day Fairwell from Europe from Barcelona, Spain to Ft. Lauderdale. Was interested in the three day "Alumni cruise" to Half Moon Key.
Opted instead to take a 7-day Mexican Riviera in February from San Deigo, where we spend our winter months. The power of advertising.

Are taxes included??? If not..it's not really a bargain.
We cruised on Zui for 7 days Western ..and our inside (without taxes) cost us $475pp. (third person was $275).

Sail & KK-
Sorry to hear you did not get your magazines! I did notice ours came addressed to me and my son (who incidentally was listed as pax #1 on our last voyage, Maasdam). I have contacted HAL numerous times about our Mariner numbers, thought we had it all straightened out - guess not. :(
I wish they still offered the page of special "Mariner Savings Cruises" - we really liked that and took advantage of a few of them -
Tatka-
I didn't think the pricing was too bad - we never pay brochure or published rate, but for a starting point, they looked ok to me... :confused:

I wish we were going with you!!! :)

How's this for service???
I complained only this morning that I had not received the Mariners' Magazine......and HAL Mariners Society saw to it that it was in my mailbox this afternoon!!! They got it all the way from the left coast to the right coast in a matter of hours......via USPS. Good Work, Mariner's Society. :)

I don't think they are to bad but for $475 + tax (around 200) I was able to cruise 7 days (and this was large inside)...$399 for 4 days doesn't look too good. So I wonder if $399 includes tax. In this case it would be terrific price. ;)

I'm not sure if it did.. you are right, though - $475 + tax for a 7-day is an awesome price!
You are going on the Celebrity California Coastal 4/17/05? I just booked my parents on that cruise!

Just got ours today also. It looks more like a HAL brochure than the Magazine I have been used to. Twice in the mag. they mention Concierge service for veranda cabins, do you think they are going to expand the Neptune to mini suites?.....jean :cool:

Did you notice there are no more "Mariner Special" sailings?
I noticed it in the last edition & now - I miss these "special" cruises... :(
There are a couple 30+ day voyages we can get excited about, even though they will be a few years away for us!

For enquiring minds -
sail7seas got her Mariner magazine the same way we got ours - snail mail.
USPS is snail mail - regular postal service.

:D I told them a real VIP was pacing his kitchen floor waiting for his Mariners Mag to arrive. He was ready to book the World Cruise ("PS" is you please) and will not be very happy if the magazine does not arrrive post haste!!! :) They promised they were slapping the stamp on it while we spoke!!
(guess I scared them, huh??? 'Ya think so?)
