Have I missed the list of abbreviations? I hope this is darling husband (or wife), and not desiginated, despicable, or down-right rotten! Thanks for your help.

Yes - you have that right.
DH is darling husband and DW is darling wife.

Abbreviations can also stand for Dear Husband and Dear Wife.

And there are not so nice words starting with "D"...so it really depends on the situation. ;)
