Hi again....what are the rules in regards to bringing wine or liquor on board the ship?
Thanks!

You can bring all the wine you want but no beer or hard liquor. We brought several small bottles of wine on board, no questions asked. If you have the room bring some small bottles of water, the water for a liter is $2.50. I just went down to the lido deck and brought some glasses of ice water to the room and put them in the fridge.

As the previous poster noted you can bring wine or champagne but no liquor or beer. Note that this is true at the ports of call as well.
If you want to enjoy your wine in the dining room you will be subject to the $15.00 corkage fee.

Help -
I have seen the prices for the alcohol and spirits listed here on CC but when I go to the HAL gift site there is no listing to order. Only wine is listed .
Where can I find the list or do we just call ship services and order what we want pre-cruise?
Thanks,
Moya

We call ship services to order what liquor we want for the cabin.
Must do this no later than 1o days before the cruise.

;)As stated before you can bring as much wine onboard as you can carry, just not beer or hard liquor. On our Med cruise we bought the local wine in each of the 10 ports we visited, and brought a bottle to the dining room each night (we did not drink the whole thing then, ha ha). After the second night, our wine steward, whom we chatted with and got to know, stopped charging us the $15 corkage fee for the rest of the cruise, which added up to a significant saving. We used the extra money to sign up for the Sommelier Dinner in the Pinnacle Grill--a special night of wine and food pairings--which was outstanding.

There is also a listing on the HAL sit, but you have to go through the guest sign in to get to the gift selection.

I copied the text of the page so you could have some idea:They used to offer choices of 7 or 8 kinds of Scotch, 5 or 6 kinds of Rye and Gin, a few Bourbons, etc, but now the only real choice is among Vodkas. Is this also true if you call Ship Services?

I don't know. When I called ships services on another matter, the sense I got was that they work from the same selection as what is shown on the web. I could be mistaken here.
I hope there is a greater selection once on board through room service or at the bar. I don't drink much hard liquor, but I and my lovely lady do like an occasional shooter of vanilla rum before bed time. :)
