The Dec 26th cruise on the Volendam is scheduled to stop in Dominica from 8-9 AM at Cabrits and then from 11-6pm in another site on the island. What does one do regarding shore trips? Do you get off, book a cruise and have you dropped off at the other site?

There will be one or two long excursions which begin in Cabrits and end in Roseau. The rest of the excursions will be in Roseau. I suggest you book a ship shore excursion or else make arrangements for your own ahead of time. You are not going to find much in Roseau. This is a very poor, but very beautiful country.

you might want to check with HAL as to whether you can get off at Cabrits if you are not going on a ship run excursion. Their literature talks about this being a stop for off loading shore excursion passengers. Don't know why you COULDN"T get off there and then arrange to end a self booked tour in Rouseau but to avoid disappointment I would confirm with HAL.

If your first stop is Cabrits, this is for shore excursions only that are all day and will end in Rousea.
There really isna't anything in Cabrits. To get off the ship on your own here and try to get to Rousea on your own - forget it.
In Dominica we did the Rain Forest Drive & Emerald Pool - every beautiful.
I noticed that you mentioned you will be there on Dec 26 - a Sunday. Very few stores will be open. One time when we stopped there it was a Sunday. There will be lots of vendors along the side streets open.

Thanks for the help. Is there an tour company that you would recommend for the falls etc.?
