I meant to tell you all about this sooner, but my memory has just been jarred...when we visited HMC on August 27, I booked a second dive they added at 2:30, which only had one other guy booked on it. When I arrived at the boat, there was a third diver there. It turns out that he was living at HMC for a while while doing research for his PhD at Stanford in marine conservation . He'd been on Eleuthera for a while and moved over to HMC to get an appreciation for the marine diversity.

I guess if you have to be in school for forever getting your doctorate, that's not a bad place to be!!!! :D :D :D

Wonder how he is doing now considering that Frances hit HMC?

Hi girl! How are you doing? :)

You just reminded me of a weather during your second dive ;) ...we had glass bottom excursion scheduled for 3PM and boy, it was pouring!

And I hope poor guy is OK during this crazy 'cane season.:D

He probably went back to CA...or this may present an opportunity for him to look at reef recovery after a hurricane. Sounds like my kind of research!

I'm OK, Natasha, how are you? Longing to be back at sea, but think about how lucky we were! The week before us and every week since our sailing there has been hurricanes, and we got mostly sunny skies and amazingly calm seas!

Nikki, I can't believe how lucky we were..just can't. We had total of 2 rains!

Can you believe Grand Cayman has been severely damaged?! I am so sorry for all people living there. (and I hope sea turtles are allright too). Our tour guide there was such a sweet lady in her 70-ies who still works hard.
