...Not been contacted yet?

Ive been waiting since May to hear whats going on? My TA has called them and was told to wait to be contacted. We tried calling about a month ago and got the same answer(from a CM who didnt really know what we were talking about). Im beginning to think we have fallen through the cracks and they have forgotten about us. I know they are busy right now with the displaced hurricane cruisers so I dont want to bother them again.
So is anyone else in the same boat(no pun intended) or am I just scheduled to work the dry dock? :)

CamColt,
Me again. If they still haven't called you, I would call inventory control. But first I would see what the prices are currently for other October sailings. There was a post on the Disboards about them going down. So I would have all info in hand to try to get a better rate on a date change. I have inventory control's # at home if your agent can't get it. They should be almost finished with the rebooks from the hurricane cruises.

HI!
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately that was the only week we could go, other than the summer, which was originally my first choice before the CA move.
This whole experience is really souring me on DCL. As much as I love them, the fact that they havent contacted me or refunded my deposit is really starting to get to me. Ive looked into alternative cruise lines(Royal Caribbean) for August and Im starting to get excited about that. However if we are doing that,I need to book and start looking into airfare, so I need to know whats going on soon. I think Ill give them to next week to finish up with the hurricane people and then call again...and be a little more forceful this time. I cant believe Im the only one hanging on still. UGH!

DCL cancelled the first 2 Magic cruises for October 05 for Drydock. I booked when the dates first came out & now they need to rebook everyone on different cruises.

CamColt, they STILL have not contacted you??? That is totally unacceptable. Your TA can't get an answer for you?

Honestly, I don't blame you for being upset, that is an OLD issue and one that has been known about for a long time. They should have contacted you by now. I would just cancel, since it is the only week you can go, and not worry about any "offer" that they could make you.

Hope you enjoy your RCCL cruise, if that's what you decide to do! :)

Well the answer we (TA and myself) have gotten is we need to wait to be contacted. And yes, it is getting very old. They were cancelled in May. Of course now there are more displaced hurricane cruisers(my heart definitely goes out to them), so I dont really want to call and bother DCL now. The hurricane people should be taken care of ASAP...as we should have been back in May.

I dont expect them to offer me anything, but we did book a summer cruise out of CA as a back up as soon as we heard about the dry dock for Oct(when DCL was still denying it to us, assuring us our reservation was fine and we will be on a Western Caribbean cruise). Im not thrilled about going to CA though and with the price being 2500.00 more than our Oct cruise, Im having a hard time justifying it. Plus the more I see of Royal Carribean the better that looks. I think how Im treated when they finally decide to contact me will be the deciding factor. This waiting thing isnt making me any happier though, LOL!

Usually DCL, and Disney in general has such great customer service that this is very surprising, which is why I asked the question. Its not like them to treat customers this way. Im beginning to think maybe they think people have been contacted, or my reservation has somehow slipped through the cracks, so I was wondering what other peoples experience has been with this issue.

It would upset me for them to be holding on to my deposit money for a cruise that doesn't exist, and hasn't existed for months! With no indication of what they are going to do!

Good luck, I hope it works out no matter what you decide. :)

Hi CamColt,
Sorry to see that you are having a problem. While I don't work for DCL, I am a Disney cast member. If you want to email your info to me, I'll see if I can get it to the right person. I was already planning on sending a copy of your post.

Thanks for the offer, Bill, but there is no need. The situation is finally taken care of and DCL came through in a huge way. While I still dont feel the situation was handled correctly, DCL definitely made up for it in the end and Im thrilled that I will be sailing with DCL next year after all. :) They definitely gave me back the Magic!!!
