You are taking a big chance IMO

On one week, you might make it. Another week, no way.
I would definitely not risk it.

You may get off the ship early but remember the check-in requirements - almost always at least 90 minutes before flight time - add to that the security checks - wouldn't dream of booking anything departing before at least noon! :(

We arrived at FLL very early, and they were letting people who were there barely in time to make their flight go ahead of all of us. If they still have that system, you'll make it. I wouldn't take a chance - not enough time.

I highly recommend you get a later flight. You may or may not begin disembarking at 9:00. If one or two cabins don't show up for immigration check, then the entire ship is delayed. Getting off, finding your baggage, grabbing a cab and getting to the airport is generally no big deal. But when we were in FLL in February the TSA lines were almost an hour long. Don't risk a flight that early. You'll just end up stressing after a relaxing cruise.

I have an 11:30 a.m. flight out of Ft. Lauderdale on a Wednesday. I am a bit nervous about it, but feel on a Wednesday, I would have more chances of making it than a Saturday or Sunday. Although, in saying that, friends of mine have that same flight home on a Saturday. That cruise we have a suite and will have preferred disembarkation, so we're hoping they'll make it, but we are aware we are taking a chance with these flights.

Usually weekdays are safe - but we have seen as many as 4 cruise ships on a Monday in Port Everglades.

Weekends - that's another story. There have been times when we flew into Ft Lauderdale around 11:30 AM on a Saturday and saw hundreds of people waiting to get through the security lines - the lines snaked all over the place. People were getting frustrated and many missed their planes.

11:15 - change that flight!.

Don't know about FL but in Seattle we didn't have transfers back to the airport because we had originally booked an earlier flight and the cruise ship would not sell us a transfer. But anyway ... we opted to take our own luggage off the ship for early disembarkation. That worked out great - we were the first off the ship at 8:00 a.m. and the taxi's were lined up at the dock. I was a little worried about getting all our luggage down that gangplank (you have no help when you take this option) but there were four of us (all adults) and we had six large pull along suitcases and three carryons and we managed just fine. We were at the airport five hours before our flight left (tried to get switched to an earlier flight but couldn't). Anyway ... we were glad we didn't have to fight for a taxi or the chaos of collecting our suitcases at the dock. Worked out great!!

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't try for anything short of a 12:30 flight out of FLL. Why stress yourself out worrying about making the flight. Also, there is Miami too. But Miami you would need mid-afternoon. Best bet is to book a later flight and if you get there early, see if they can put you on the earlier flight once you are at the airport.
