Direct Entry Pools

Hope Someone Can Help Me - Need To Know Which Ships Have Stair Entry Not Ladders Into The Pools. Husband Unable To Use Ladders. Appreciate Any Help In This Regard.

Of all the HAL ships I have been on, I have never seen the kind of pool you are describing. Maybe the Eurodam has a step entry pool? I know many passengers would appreciate it.

HAL has some sort of a lift that they use to help handicapped passengers get into the pool. It's some sort of seat thing that swings you around and lowers you into the pool. Would that help your husband?

Since I haven't sailed on a Vista, so I cannot give an answer about those ships but the others I can.

The Lido pools on all other ships do not have a straight ladder. The "ladder's" steps are more like a staircase. Hopefully the step's angles and rise are good enough to allow your husband access to the pool.

What I cannot remember is how close the last step is to the bottom of the pool.

None of HAL's ships -- not even the Vistas -- have a regular set of stairs that you can walk directly into the pool.

They are ladder stairs that have a bit of an angle but to me are still steep and with my bad knees I can not handle them.

The last step on the ladder is about 2 feet from the bottom of the pool.

All the ships do have this new device that can lift a person into and out of the water. You may not see it by the pool -- have to ask for it -- as it is stored away on some ships until it is needed.

Thanks all. Stairs ok not ladders. Apparently Princess & RCCL are better bets as they have some pools with stair entries.

Ladders on all the ships. However, I don't know about Prinsendam.
