Considering a Disney Cruise with 4 and 7 year old girls. Will be flying from the West Coast. Is the trip worth it at these ages? Would it be better to wait a year or so? My parents took us to Disneyworld at ages 8 and 11, and it was perfect timing--old enough not to get too tired and young enough to think it was great.

Hard call, as kids mature at such different rates.
My oldest grand-daughter at 7+ would be fine, but her brother, at 5+ would be questionable.
My other grandaughter (cousin of the above) just turned 5, and would be fine.
Girls do mature faster than boys, even when so young!

Ithink they are both perfect ages. 3 - 10 are probably the right span. Its relaxed enough to return to the room with your younger child and rest up and then hit more stuff and they will still love all the characters and everything. We took our son who was 6 at the time and he loved it.

We took are kids on theri first Disney cruise at 5 (girl) and 3 (boy). Everyone had a blast. They are now 7 and 5, and we are returning for our second Disney cruise in just about 4 weeks. I agree with the above poster, between the ages of 3 and 10 is perfect.

My boys were three and six when they went on their first cruise in 1998. They had a blast. They wanted to spend all of their time in the pool of in the Oceaneer's Club. They were sullen when we pulled them out for dinner. After a few meals like that, we just left them in the Club because after all, it's their vacation too.
Castaway Cay was the same way, they played in Scuttles with the other kids and on the beach with us. They cried when it was time to go back aboard.
Yours will be fine.

Just bad luck I guess.
Just once I'd like to finish a cruise on the same ship on which I started.
