After so many hurricanes, how is the water clarity? We leave 9/25/04 on the Zuiderdam and the ports are: Half Moon Cay, Tortola, St. Thomas and Nassau. We love to snorkel, but only want to spend our money on it if we can see something.

Lauraally .... I've been reading some threads from folks who have recently returned from cruises. Good reports on the water clarity in Tortola on excursions to The Baths of Virgin Gorda. Normally, it's like snorkeling around in an aquarium!

If you are planning to go to The Baths while in Tortola, here's a thread (on CC ports board) with a link to an excellent map w/snorkel areas marked and other info on The Baths:

Hope this helps a bit. Happy Sailing! OCruisers :)

As long as the rest of the storms stay away, the waters will clear and you should have good snorkling weather.
