We are going on our first cruise with HAL Oct 2 and have been assigned 7128 and would like some feedback from someone about this cabin. I had asked for midship since the DH has not been on a cruise before and have read alot about the trash and debris - can we asked to be moved now or will it be necessary?

I have never before cruised in an aft cabin (our first will be this Saturday), we have a corner aft on deck 6.
Have asked and read both pros and cons on these cabins (mostly pro). I would think some debris is possible (although my thought would be that there is more during periods of cruising when there are lots of children onboard that do not pick up after themselves when they are finished eating/drinking).
My review when I get back won't help you since you will be embarking as we are debarking.

I would think if you love being outside in the sun then this would be a nice cabin.
There are plenty of sites where you can view these cabins and their verandahs. If you have not seen them already, let me know and I will do my best to direct you.

We will make sure to leave the Z in decent order for your cruise :)
Have a great time!

I think it states Oct2 Z cruise in his subject line if I'm not seeing it wrong.

You're seeing it right but there are 2 Z ships - Zuiderdam and Zaandam - which one?

Zuiderdam - Oct 2

We were on the Oosterdam - her sister ship. We had a suite mid-ships. But we were able to view the aft verandahs on the Rotterdam Deck from the Lido Deck. For the most part they are not private and do get a lot of "trash" blown down onto them from the Lido Deck. We watched items blowing down onto that deck - especially sea days.

:) It is definitely the Zuiderdam. Boy, are there a lot of mixed reviews on it too. I just hope the weather holds out.

Most people who've stayed in this and similar cabins on the Zui have had (it seems) a very positive experience. One person had a bad time and a handful of others had some negatives. But on the whole most loved the aft cabins and would stay in them again.

The important thing, as with any problem situation, is to "nip it in the bud" by bringing it to the crew's attention.

Bon Voyage!
