My husband and I and another couple are taking our first cruise. We are sailing on the Ryndam September 3 and can hardly wait!! I have a couple of questions for the experts. This site is great and I have found lots and lots of helpful information.
We have an inside room - K category. Are there plenty of hangers in the closets?
If we bring sodas on board, are we allowed to take it out of the room? Also, if we bring wine on board, can we take a glass -- say to go to another stateroom or on deck?
I understand the weather has been unseasonably cool and wet. Guess we will just check weather before we leave.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to Cruise Critic.
There are plenty of hangers in all the cabins. If for some reason there are not enough in your cabin, ask your room steward for more -- he will be glad to bring you them.
Yes -- you can bring as much soda on baord as you want and YES you can take it from cabin to cabin -- no problems.
And another YES -- you all can take wine from one cabin to another.
And unfortunately this has been a bad weather year for Alaska.
Enjoy your cruise.

Our July 2-9 Ryndam cruise had great weather, only some rain in Ketchikan. No problem with hooded jacket and umbrella that I brought.
Since we had just toured the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia before embarking, we brought wonderful wine with us. We shared with our neighbors.... had pre dinner wine and cheese in our staterooms. Make sure you order from room service, certainly added to our enjoyment.:D

Can anyone tell me on the Ryndam, which beverages are complimentary in the buffet area? Beverages, such as ice tea, lemonade, fruit punch, breakfast juices, which types? Orange, cranberry, or whatever? TIA! :D

Hello Texas, from East Texas. We are sailing on the Ryndam Sept. 17.....5 wks. from now :D , on our 4th Alaskan cruise. Get ready for the time of your life in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. From the time you arrive in Vancouver, you will be awestruck by the amazing environment you are in. Are you doing any pre or post cruise days in Vancouver ??
Deb....I believe that for breakfast, in the Lido, you have your choice of juices like orange, tomato, apple, etc. plus water, coffee, hot chocolate, chocolate and "white" milk, hot tea, and through out the day you can find hot and cold tea, coffee, lemonade, fruit punch.....a great selection, I think. gg

We ADORE the Ryndam -- went to Alaska in May, and have booked another cruise on her for November. (That'll be about all the cruising we will do for a while, I fear!) We had no issues with taking a glass of wine out on deck, and actually sat by the Aft Pool with glasses of wine for "Sailaway" from Vancouver. It was delightful. We never took our wine anywhere the ship was selling wine, choosing instead to use our "wine card" in the dining room and lounges.
We had TONS of storage, plenty of hangers, and lots of drawers. Actually, SO MANY drawers we didn't discover all of them till the cruise was nearly over :)
Hope you have a wonderful time. It is a lovely ship and Alaska is amazing! If I could afford to, I'd go back again this season.
