We are thinking of taking a cruise on the eurodam in feb. I have an son who will be 15 at that time and lives on pizza. What he would like to know is how good is the pizza and the name of the place on the ship to get a slice. Also, has anyone brought their teen on this ship.
Thanks

Hi Sue,
Hal's pizza is very good, they have many varieties. The name of the Pizza place on Eurodam is "The Slice". I'm not sure if it's open 24/7 but You can order a whole pizza from room service at no charge. All HAL ships offer pizza, most have stations in the Lido and all have the room service options.

We have had good pizzas and bad pizzas -- really depends on the person who cooks it.
One time it was so bad -- you could ring it out and get at least a quarter cup of oil from one slice.

The "Slice" on the Eurodam is open until midnight. They have several kinds of Pizza there, or you can ask them to make you one special. You can also order a pizza through room service, if you're just dying to have one.
The Pizza was excellent. The crust was usually perfect -- not to thick, as I like thin crust, but not really thin either. They always had Pepperoni and a 4-cheese pizza, but they also had other options at Slice ... and, as I said, you could special request something if you're willing to wait.
Slice is found on the aft Lido deck, to port of the Bar.

Triple ditto on Eurodam's Pizza:) . Btw, the "Slice" is a good place to get it but they are still serving pizza (self-service) out of the Lido restaurant also

Correct ... so long as the Lido is open for Lunch one can get pizza there in the "tastes of the world" area, although sometimes the selection is limited. If one wants to order something specific, one has to go to the slice counter.

It's a pity to go on a cruise and eat pizza the whole time.

Hi Sue
Sorry to be a party pooper but this would be a great opportunity to wean your teenage son of junk food pizza because as you say "he lives on pizza". In moderation, as with other junk food, it's fine but to live on it is likely to be a cause of a very unhealthy and shorted life...poor kid.
While on this cruise you will both find there is such an abundance of healthy and delicious food your youngster could try and enjoy. The food is so varied and practically anything is available. Just get him to try the more healthy alternatives.
Please just read what the experts say below:-
What's wrong with junk food?
Too much fat! Junk foods such as hamburgers, PIZZA, fried chicken and fries usually contain loads of saturated fats. Too much saturated fat in the diet will cause people to put on weight and get fat or obese (very fat). Being overweight is a risk to the health of the heart and can cause other diseases.
Too much salt! Junks foods often have too much salt. Pizza in particular contains very high levels of sodium (salt) There's a lot of salt already in foods such as bread, breakfast cereals and biscuits and cakes. So people are getting more salt than they need when they eat junk food. Too much salt is very unhealthy for the heart.
Do your young son, and yourself ,a great big favor, a favor that he will thank you for for the rest of his extended life, and wean him off his precious pizza. This is a wonderful opportunity to do it while on board the Eurodam and you will both feel just so much better as a result.
Enjoy your cruise.

You hit the nail on the head and besides that it's so borring.
Reminds me last year on the Carnival Destiny where this guy which was like 11-12 years old, at the table next to us, ate 7 nights chicken fingers and french fries.

I love my pizza too! I do agree though that a cruise is the perfect time to expose kids to all kinds of food. We travelled with teens on a cruise and encouraged them to try all kinds of foods. It got to be a game. They tried escargo, pastas, fish dishes, cold soups, lobster, basked Alaska, etc. The beauty of it is it's all paid for, so if they don't like it or don't eat it all, it's ok! I'll plan to eat my pizza (for lunch one day) while onboard as well as enjoying all the wonderful foods available.
