I spent some time this morning on the web looking at hotels. I found a remodeled Ramada Inn on SR 84 in FLL, about 1 1/2 miles from both the airport and cruiseport. They have complementary transportation to/from both, as well as a complementary hot breakfast buffet. It looked decent in the photos, and since it was just remodeled I'm hoping it's an accurate depiction. The web rate was $109 for the night. I booked it, but I can always cancel. Anyone know anything about the hotel?

Marc, I asked about that one myself on the other thread and do not think anyone answered. I would be willing to cancel Amerisuites if I heard a really good review. It was a bit cheaper for the night I needed I think it was $89.00
Hopefully someone has stayed here recently and can respond.

Lisa,
You're going to be there two weeks before me. Why don't you stay there. If it's bad at least I'll have time to cancel.;) :D
BTW, their airport shuttle service goes to 12:30 in the morning, plenty of time (hopefully) for my 10:00 PM flight.

See my reply in the other thread. This definitely looks like a place to avoid.

We stayed there about 3 years ago and it was bad. We did not have a reservation and had a hard time finding a vacancy anywhere on a Friday night at 10 pm so we stopped there. It was so bad that we pushed a piece of furniture in front of the door. We were not sure that the lock was working. It was not dirty but the whole place was run down.
Hopefully it has been renovated in the last 3 years.

It's supposedly been renovated within the last year. However, as Dave pointed out there were many negative reviews on TripAdvisor, one as recent as last month. So I've canceled the reservation and booked in the Hampton Inn North. Hopefully that'll be better.
Once again, thanks Dave for pointing me to that web site.

The Hampton Inn north will be much better. I think you made a good choice.
The Ramada Inn is in a bad part of town. We did not feel at all comfortable going from our car to the room once we got checked in. If it had not been so late and we were so exhausted we would not have stayed there.
