My husband & I leave August 23 on a cruise/tour to Alaska. Our ship is the Vendeem. Having a casino is not important to us but I'm just curious if there is a casino on the Vendeem. I don't believe I've seen one when checking out the website on HAL.

Yes, the Veendam has a casino.

All HAL ships have casinos. In fact the only North American ships that *don't* have casinos are the Disney ships and the Pride of America (that only sails in Hawaii).
I've been on the Veendam a couple of times - one of my favorite ships.

The name of the ship is Veendam; all of HAL ships are DAM ships (Oosterdam, Westerdam, Rotterdam, Maasdam, etc)

The casino is located on Deck 5 - Upper Promenade Deck - port side.
It is just past the atrium as you walk towards the stern of the ship.

Fortunately the casino does schedule some smoke-free days - albeit not enough of them. And they do have some fun events like slot tournaments.

Hi Mineola, I am on the Veendam leaving Vancouver on 22nd August is that the one you are on as you said 23rd? Have you been onto the roll call for this cruise yet?
