I received my docs for my upcoming cruise that has us there on Nov. 1. Didn't see any new excursions.

I understand that there are several new excursions you can join.

Foliage Hunt: This excursion allows you to compete against other teams to scour the island and find examples of exotic foliage that has fallen from the trees. Your team will race to pick up and place as much fallen foliage into a big pile and start a celebratory bond fire. The team with the biggest pile wins. Adults $70. Children $45

Beach Building: This excursion permits you to experience a "hands-on" day of helping nature build the perfect beach. Participants will haul loads of sand from one side of the island where there is too much to other areas where it has been washed away. Adults $60 Children $35 Gloves may be purchased on-sight for $22.

Treasure Hunt: Somewhere on the island is a lucky plastic drinking cup, aluminum can and piece of paper. Search through the debris washed onto the island during the recent huricane season. Collect examples in the black plastic bag given to each participant. At the end of the day, compare your haul with the pictures of the lucky pieces at the tender dock. Prizes may be awarded. Adults $55 Children $45

The offering time is limited on the above excursions and may be discontinued or reinstated based upon the severity of huricane season.

The Westerdam's three day cruise to HMC is the first week of December. Mr. Kruse's e-mail said all of the new HMC features are to be completed by that time.

Anne- We are scheduled to be on HMC on Dec. 3rd, the day prior to the day cruise with the President of HAL goes to HMC, and there is no mention of any new shore excursions on HMC at the HAL website. The only thing that is different, is that the cabanas are now being reserved at the shore excursion site vs. Ship services. I keep checking to see if they expand the offerings, but there is no indication of that yet.

We are scheduled to be on HMC on November 27 on board the Volendam. Looks like we will be just ahead of the new shore offerings. There is some discussion of them in the current issue of Mariner Magazine. Ours just came yesterday, Sept 20.

Bahahaha!!!! Oh you totally crack me up! I wonder how many people really thought these where real excursions and HAL would actually have you pay all that money for them!:D

Thank you FLGIRL!!!

I was beginning to wonder if anyone had a sense of humor.

I think the next big thing will be when HAL permitts the opportunity to experience cruising as a crew member. Each Participant will be assigned two cabins to clean and be permitted to work various shifts in the kitchen. The cost will be about $30 per person per day.

I just read it and cracked up big time. Very good!

I hope they offer the "Banana Cabana Fling" where teams compete to erect a one-room open shanty capable of being rented out for at least $209/day. Teams will be assigned colors and will earn the right to paint their shanty in the team color for all to see.

Now, I heard there's a $100.00 cash prize for anyone who can buy a T-shirt from the HMC gift shop that actually fits them!
