I'm a smoker :o and am just wondering, where onboard the Eurodam do they allow smoking (lido deck, what bars/lounges, on my cabin balcony, etc)? I'm sailing on her for New Years and can't wait!!!! :D It'll be my 1st HAL cruise.

This may not be the complete list, but at least some of the places you can smoke are:
your cabin/balcony
Ocean Bar at the bar and a few nearby tables
Promenade Deck
aft on the Lido Deck, at least on one side
Other than these three public areas I don't remember any other smoking going on.

You can also smoke in the Casino and the Sports Bar.

Thanks, both of you. :D Can you smoke in the Northern Lights Nightclub, Crows Nest Lounge and/or the Piano Bar?

You're welcome. I don't know about the first two places on your list, but know for a fact that there's no smoking in the Piano Bar.
There's no smoking in any of the Piano Bars on any of the Vista ships. It's really too small and enclosed a space for smoking.
I only wandered into Northern Lights a couple of times, and didn't notice if there's a smoking section or not. I spent a lot of time in the Crow's Nest, and don't remember seeing anyone smoking, but that's not to say there wasn't a smoking section there.

I think that pretty much covers the list. A lot of smokers hang out at the Sea View Bar area and Sports Bar. Those were my 2 favorite bars because I enjoy smoking when I'm drinking.
Enjoy your cruise on the beautiful Eurodam!

Yes, HAL has many places to smoke including your balcony. Celebrity was my line of choice until they won't allow you to smoke on your own balcony anymore. So now I just move around to the other lines that allow us to smoke.

We were looking at Celebrity when planning our upcoming cruise. Then we discovered no smoking in rooms or on private balconies. So we booked with HAL.

Exactly. Celebrity is my favorite line, but now I have to book with hal, princess, Carnival or rccl to cruise because of their smoking policy. They are going to lose a lot of money from me. Also don't know if I'll cruise with RCCL, because they don't allow smoking in the cabins, but they do on your balcony. Was thinking of taking an inside cabin with them for an Alaska cruise, but can't smoke, so we'll have to do Princess.

Thanks!! :D I'm always enthusiastic about cruising (and most other things in life)!!!! :D About the complainers, I find them (well, most of them) amusing and read those threads just for the laughs, I don't let them get to me or get me down. The only thing about CC that I have to complain about is that they don't let me use enough smilies (sp). (imagine a sad face smilie here) And I am totally excited about this upcoming cruise. My 3rd New Years cruise, my 1st HAL cruise and on a brand new ship, it'll be a blast!! :D :D I noticed that your sailing on the Amsterdam on May 16/09. I'm sailing on the Carnival Freedom on May 9/09 and it's an 8 day cruise so I'll be debarking when you're embarking!! We can wave at each other as we pass!! :D I'll be posting lots in the next 4 weeks and I'll try to get on here sometimes while I'm aboard the Eurodam!! :D
