I had read that CC had taken a direct hit, but have read nothing since. Is this true? Or did I misread something?
Have recent cruisers gone there?
Please advise!+

Look on the Cruise Critic News. It says that DCL was reporting that Frances caused only cosmetic damage (mostly vegetation). I think I have heard that DCL is resuming stops at Castaway Cay.

Lots of sand and rocks got blown where it shouldn't be, too, but that wasn't so hard to clean up. Only problem is, looks like Hurricane Jeanne might pay a visit now!

I thought she looked really nice Wednesday (Sept. 22) we got our picture made under the sign "Frances was here" but as the previous post said she is being slammed again as she is only 8 miles from Abaco island and the weather channel showed Abaco is getting slammed right now.
I just wanted to say if your cruise is deverted to Charleston because the island may need cleaning up that Charleston is a wonderful city.
At disboards.com someone complained about Disney taking them there instead of Castaway Key-they were fussing and said all Charleston had was a "flea market". Not true. That is a wonderful city with a lot of historic things to see. By the flea market I assume they meant the old "Slave Market" which has wonderful handcrafts. You can get handmade baskets there, handmade jewelry all kinds of artist prints etc.etc.
Also the slave market is close to the battery and Charleston's new aquarain besides lots of great restaurants and art gallerys etc. etc. etc.
I know that is a disapointment if you love the beach-Castaway Key being so great but Charleston is hardly a dump-to me she is much more beautiful then Savannah or New Orleans and is every bit as great as St.Augustine. To me Disney made a great choice when you consider the limitations as to ports she could take the ship. I would prefer Charleston to Freeport for sure though I doubt Freeport was even an option as she had been hit by Frances too.
