I know this subject has been discussed over and over (YES I KNOW ABOUT THE "VIBRATION") .... we are sailing on the 28 DAY MED VOYAGE ON VOYAGER and are stuck in the back of the ship... deck 7 in 775. Great pricing, not a great location! I am considering a move to 1057 which is a Horizon C category aft, big balcony. fOR A CRUISE WITH MANY PORTS, only 1 sea day in 28 DAYS AND some 9 different countries, would the benefits of that location be worth the $100 per day difference? ANYONE EVER STAY IN THIS CABIN????
tHANKS FOR YOUR INPUT:D

IMO probably not. I've stayed in a HV suite. It was on a Norway cruise where scenery was paramount. Loved it. But if you are in port almost every day, unless you expect spectacular scenery going in and out of your ports, stay where you are and spend the extra bucks on other things. Just MO.

As always, this depends on personal preferences.

We have stayed in this room. Yes, there is noticable vibration when at full speed or in stormy seas. Your exposure would be limited to when you are under sail and not applicable to days when you are in port.

Since the cabin modules for both cabins are identical, it is the balcony/verandah that is different. Considering the emphasis on ports,I probably would enjoy the $2800 in another fashion.

Thanks for your replies!

Paula, Did you get noise from the Verandah restaurant above? Also, what portion of these large balconies is covered?

Many of these ports provide beautiful scenery (if the weather obliges) and since we have done the itinerary before, I wont necessarily disembark at every port! The ship will be sailing most nights at dinner time............

Since this is the deck immediately below the verandah, we did hear some scrapping of chairs in the early morning hours as well as noise drifting down at meal time [along w. some sugar wrappers]......none of this was a deal breaker for us. I'm sorry that I can't give you a reliable measurement of coverage....perhaps 1/3rd??...anyway, modesty is required if you are lounging in 'the other part' during meal times as both you and the folks at the outer tables of The Verandah are able to
see each other. Also, cruise staff sometimes meets/congregates there in late afternoon.

Whatever you decide, enjoy your cruise.

While the view can be great from the aft of the ship, the vibration and noise are beyond horrible. No way does the view compensate for the groaning and creaking even in calm water. My significant other had to sleep with ear plugs every night!

Kick it up a notch when the seas are bad and these suites are like being on a bucking bronco. When you come in to dock at 6 am, you'll hear horrible noises as the ship prepares to dock. Oh, did I mention vibration yet? These are lousy cabins. Book in the center or forward in this otherwise beautiful ship.

Clearly there are some folks, like this poster, who find the vibration awful. I think Regent should post a disclaimer regarding this problem. And TAs should warn their clients before booking them in one of these cabins. But it is important for you to know that lots of folks who book these cabins are not the least bit bothered by the vibration. We are among them. Most of the time I wasn't even conscious of it unless my partner brought it to my attention. We were on a 12 day Norwegian fjord cruise and spent many happy hours enjoying the scenery from our oversized deck. But I would only spend the extra money for one of these cabins for a very shore scenery-intensive itinerary like the fjords, Alaska, and maybe the Amazon. Pat

wow C B traveler!!!! Since I am booked into 1057 for 28 days in october , this does not make me happy. Ear pLUGS???? We jog every morning early, so the mornings you describe won't be that awful (I hope. )

Having said that, they had us in 775 and it couldn't be any better, so what the heck? In the mediterranean, the departures each night should be spectacular.....vibration or not ;)

Great attitude love@cruise. Enjoy what you have and spend the money on earplugs or martinis. Oh wait, the martinis are no charge!

I have never been on that level, but I would always book a horizon suite. I had 877 twice, by choice. Once was the Caribbean, the other time, transatlantic. I never was bothered by the vibrations. In other words, some are more sensitive to the movement than others. But there is nothing better than sitting on your balcony at night and counting the stars in the sky. The view is fabulous.
Enjoy.

Glad to hear that. I have room 677 on b2b 9/27 and 10/4.

Hey, it is not my intent to be negative, and we don't mind any vibration we've had on the Navigator. But in suite 782 on the Voyager it was not vibration but pure shaking! At full cruise speed, it was not really bearable. This happens at full cruise speeds over 20 knots. a there is no way of knowing if the itinerary will involve cruising at this speed or above, we will never again book a horizon suite, or any suite near the stern.
