I am thinking about a 7 day Caribbean on HAL. I have only cruised Disney and Royal Caribbean. How does HAL compare? I will also be bringing my (3) children 8,8,10.
Thanks.

Welcome to the HAL boards! I'm sorry I cant answer your questions but when we were on the Zuiderdam last Aug. all the kids seem to be having a good time :) I havent cruised on Disney and Royal Caribbean yet to compare but wanted to welcome you to the site :)

NJBill- Given your kids age, I would not think that even HAL's Vista ships compare to Disney! Disney, IMHO is in a class by itself as it is geared toward kids that age. It also does a wonderful job for the parents too, but is more costly generally than a Vista ship cruise.
HAL will hopefully (weather permitting ) be opening a new kids park of the same ilk as Castaway Cays kids area! If all goes as scheduled it will occur the December, unfortunately the hurricanes just keep coming.
I have been on RCCL also, and I would say that HAL would be a simular experience for the kids (minus the rock climbing wall and ice rink!) You will find the ambiance less neon and more refined generally on HAL but their new Vista ships contain a disco and "refined glitter" .
This is just my humble opinion, and if there is one thing I am, it's well humbled;) .
