We are going on the Volendam in November 04 and have not been on it since 2001. We have not received our documents and I have done searches on Volendam. However, I could not find any references to my questions. Would someone please let me know the following:
1. Is the Java Cafe still the original or has it changed to the new Windstar Cafe?
2. Does the Volendam still have the original Wajang Theatre or was that replaced with something else?
3. I assume that the Marco Polo Restruarant has been changed to the Pinnacle Grill?
4. Does HAL still have 3 formal nights on a ten day cruise?
5. When was the Volendam in drydock last?
6. When will HMC be open for docking?
I know that HAL does have auto tipping ($10.00 per day.)
I know that HAL does add a 15% qratuity to the bar bills.
Any other information that may be provided will greatly appreciated. Thank you.

5. 4/04/04 - 10 days
6. Ships do not dock at HMC - and it's anyone's guess when the ships will be returning there but hopefully soon.
We'll be on her again end of January, 2005.
Volenam is our favourite ship - enjoy!

1. The response to Number 1 could be confusing. Java Cafe is still the original. The response "yes" could have been to either part of the question.

The response to #2 could also be confusing.
As far as I know and from reading other reviews, the Wajang Theatre has not been replaced with anything else.

RE: Drydocking
Didn't the Volendam get the new upgraded eurotop mattresses, luxury sheets, as well as robes in all cabins when this occurred? Seems like I read this months ago.
Maybe someone could confirm this. We're looking forward to the extra "improvements"!!

I do not mean to be fastidious to a point of distraction but the Volendam's early November Sailing date is Saturday November 6 and she will be on the Eastfarer Cruise until November 16th, which I believe is a Tuesday.

Marybeach, yes Volendam has those oh so very comfortable mattresses and all the other things you mentioned. They were telling us there are going to be some more additions when it goes in to dry dock next year also.

Yes, Himself, you are correct. What I meant by November 04 was November 2004. We actually sail 10/27 through 11/06/04.
