12 foot seas for the last two days have caused the cancellation of the ports of Rarotanga and Tubuai. We are currently heading to alternate port of Raitea. Will spend extra day on Bora Bora.
Bring sweater or like for cold days and wraps for the evening. Ship hands out motion sickness pills but brought our own and started first night aboard. Have had no problems but have heard many staff and guests have become ill.
Divers: Water has been in the mid to high 70's. Jean Michel is very nice and has been out and about the ship when not giving talks. He will pose for pictures and answer questions. 48 divers aboard and not enough spaces for all divers on some dives. If it is still possible book dives ahead, one guy waited untill he got onboard and was told 1st available dive the fourteenth. Dive on Aitutaki was better than expected, huge turtle and giant moray eel and nice swim through cave and cargo ship wreck. This was extra dive arranged by Dominique with ?Bubble Time?? Two tank dive was pricey at 170 but very enjoyable.
More about Bathy's later but dove with them on Tahiti and Moorea. None of the problems noted by earlier posters. Would not hesitate recommending either location.
Eating up minutes. Got to go.
Also, never thought to pack ankle wraps but won't forget again. DH sprained ankle and it took a $170 doctor visit to get a neoprene ankle suport.
