Talk about a roller-coaster of emotions the last two days. My wife and I and my parents are booked on the Sept. 27 PG cruise in two Deck 6 window cabins. Monday afternoon our TA sent us an e-mail from Regent stating that the 9-27 cruise was oversold. Regent offered the four of us upgrades to two Cat A veranda suites (709 and 710) if we switched to the 11-22 cruise (same 14-day itinerary). That's a huge bump (about $10,000 worth per couple). My retired parents were all for it. I am retired so it was an easy decision for me. But my wife still works two days a week. After many phone calls to her employer, including HR, she finally got the go-ahead. We called our TA Tuesday about 11:30 a.m. saying it was a go if the cabins were still available. She called Regent and then called us back. We had a deal! We whooped it up. But about an hour later we were crestfallen. An e-mail from our TA informed us that someone had just canceled their 9-27 cruise. Therefore Regent was renigging on its offer to us and we were back to 9-27. Our TA tried to argue that a deal's a deal, but Regent wouldn't budge. We are bummed, but, of course, we have a glorious cruise to look forward to a week from Saturday. Thinking positively, we won't miss Thanksgiving with the family, and we will probably have better weather with the 9-27 voyage. And Cousteau, too!

Goodness!

Your Sept. cruise sounds great to me but this situation makes me curious about the legality or goodwill anyway of Regents actions.
