Both the Zaandam and the Volendam were in Vancouver today and I check the web cam just minutes before 5 and there was only one in view. The other just left. Not sure which one it was. I am guessing it could be the Volendam.

That's a "R-class" (one funnel) so that's either Zaandam or Volendam - I'm guessing Volendam

If it's Volendam, Capt. Albert's blog should say something in the next few days. Of course we will hear more on this board in a week.

The webcam pix are great...but I see the authorities still have not towed away the cloud in front of Grouse Mtn. It was parked there in early July. :D

He would if he was on Volendam but his ship, for now, is Veendam and he's not on her at this time ;)

Yep. He's on a well-earned vacation. He'll be back onboard the Veendam three weeks from tomorrow.

I'm thinking it's the Volendam as well. I think that's the start of MY cruise. The Volendam goes from Vancouver to Seattle (today) to Los Angeles (Thursday), then does Hawaii and some South Pacific Islands, eventually making her way to Auckland where we board on 24 October and disembark in Sydney on 9 November.

Very nice pictures!

It was Volendam... There were lots of delays... Official reviews of both ships later...

Since they are identical ships on the outside, I cannot tell which is which.

I can see why it would be late leaving as my DW is from B.C.'s lower mainland and hates to have to leave there as well.

Volendam was docked at the end of Canada Place; Zaandam arrived later than usual (under Lion's Gate Bidge at about 9am) and docked on the west side, the usual HAL spot. It was a pleasure to see both in port at the same time - and I wish I were on board either one that evening!!

Maybe this will help? Volendam on left and Zaandam on right:

I was onboard the Volendam and the Captain said our delayed departure was due to the amount of provisions that had to be loaded on as this was the beginning of a very long voyage (up to 55 days for some guests). At 5pm, they were still loading, but we got a great view of the Zaandam sailing out right by us! :)

It was the Volendam. We left about 45 min. late on an overnight to Seattle. One question, does anyone know why they require the Seattle departing passengers to assemble in the main lounge at 7 in the morning?
That was really annoying......especially since the didn't let us disembark for another 2 hours. Why do they do this especially when the ship is to be in Seattle all day? I can see them wanting you out of the cabin so it can be cleaned, etc. (Although 7 a.m. still is rather early!) But why not let the passengers enjoy the buffet, etc. until the ship is cleared for disembarkation? We were stranded in the lounge for over 2 hours

My bad on the Capt. Albert comment. I got my V-dams mixed up! At least we have the answer.
