Sail, I hope you have a wonderful cruise. It will be interesting to hear from you about what some of the others viewed as negatives on the Zuiderdam. Hopefully you can get to HMC and give us a full report. Hope you and DH haved a wonderful cruise.

May I too add my wishes for a Bon Voyage? I hope the seas remain calm and there is nothing "named" to interrupt your delightful time at sea. I look forward to your comments upon return.

Sail, may I add my heartfelt good wishes for a wonderful cruise for you and your DH. If you get onto Half Moon Cay, check to see if the Turquoise Cabana is still standing (HAL assures me that it is:) ).
While I'm at it, I also wish Nancy (Taszmom) a wonderful cruise. Maybe you two will meet up! We want to hear every joyous detail.
Safe seas and happy hearts!:p

Thank you, KK and everyone. I appreciate the nice send off.
We are packed and just about ready and eager to go. We are being picked up at a horrid hour Friday morning and should be in FLL by 10:30 or so. (fingers/eyes/toes crossed). We should be able to spend a nice day at the pool, hopefully. And look forward to boarding on Saturday. This will be a quick week for us as it is rare we only do seven days (3 days at Pier 66 will make it ten). DH's schedule is really tight and that is all he has time for.
I shall come home to post comments as to our comparisions of Zuiderdam last year to this year and IF we get to HMC, shall be able to give an 'eye-witness' report.

Thank you Heather. I am so happy you have electricity and have been able to come to the Board. I will assuredly check up on the Turquoise Cabana....assuming we get to HMC>
I hope Nancy (Taszmom) and I meet up. I know I would enjoy meeting her and her DH>

Taszmom- Is there a meeting set up for CC pax? How do you all hope to just 'meet up' on the ship when you have no idea what you look like, if there is no planned time or place or know each other's cabin #'s?
I always wonder this because some people always so they hope to meet on the ship and then come home and of course haven't because there were no arrangements made beforehand. :o

"old salt"
............:D Surely that was a typo (tee hee) ... or DFD was obviously speaking figuratively;) . I can see by the lovely Bon Voyage pic Brian posted that Sail is most assuredly not "old" .

Dave....THAT IS SO FABULOUS!!!!! Is an HAL ship?? :)Sorry, no. It's the White Star Line's CALGARIC
(http://www.pinetreeweb.com/calgaric02.htm) pulling out of Southhampton on a Baltic cruise in 1933. Well before your time (and mine), but still rather nostalgic.

to sail7seas or anyone that knows...
I am getting conflicting info and figured you would know...can I bring a bottle or two of wine on the ship with us for our room. The docs clearly state no, but I thought I read somewhere you could at least bring on wine and champagne. We order the 6 bottle wine pkg for dinner, but wanted to bring some for the room. 2nd question is checked or carry-on?

You can bring wine or champagne onto the ship in your carry-on - no problems there. It's hard liquor that you can't take onto the ship.

WOW! - I can't believe that you are leaving SO early in the morning on Friday.
You will definitely have to go to bed early tomorrow night for an EARLY rise Friday morning.

Hi Nancy.....You are permitted to bring wine and champagne aboard with you in your carryon. Hard liquor is not permitted; beer is not permitted. Wine is okay unless they changed the rule in the last week (which I doubt).

Bring it - we had two bottles of Champagne in our luggage and had no problem at all!:D
Just don't forget to bring a corkscrew!!!

Groan......isn't it awful!!! We have taken that flight so many times and it is awful getting up so early. I'll take it very slow tomorrow and go to bed very early. It will be good to arrive early in FLL though. We get to enjoy the full day there.

Are you lined up to receive another one of those medallions yet? You received one on one of our cruises but I don't remember which one it was since I am not into that stuff, but my wife and SIL are.
