Very curious what others think of this.

I was given a $200 per person goodwill cruise credit on Friday.

On Sunday I booked another cruise using this credit. Paid the deposit at the time of booking. Received an invoice with this $200 pp credit.

Paid the balance on Wednesday. Later in the day on Wednesday I received an email requesting an additional $200. After many calls and emails to Regent they have now advised me that they decided to change the goodwill credit to $100 per person.

Does this make sense?

It makes perfect sense if they want to antagonize their clients. In the current economy it seems they are not thinking clearly.:(

I agree, that is not good for their clients! Do you have something in writing that promises the larger credit? I would think they should honor it if you do. It is definitely worth pursuing since it was renigging on a promise -- not cool.

Oh, I don't know. How about a few more details? Sounds to me like we are missing something here.

Yes, I have an email with the $200 pp future cruise credit. And, I have the original invoice giving the credit. And, the second invoice taking it away - with no explanation.

I thought I gave quite a few details - maybe so many that it was confusing. I really don't know what else I can add. I was given the good will future cruise credit because of a cancelled cruise. It was cancelled just one day into the $200 pp cancellation fee. The reservation supervisor ( I won't give her name) gave me the credit. Then after my many emails and phone calls wanting to know why it was taken away she said the Loyalty dept. had changed it to $100 pp.

Just want to add that this is our 6th cruise with Regent.

Alls well that ends well. It was really a matter of the left hand (reservation dept.) not knowing what the right hand (loyalty dept.) was doing.

I checked my credit card statement online this morning and saw that a $200 credit had been issued on Wednesday. So after many phone calls this morning found out that Loyalty dept. changed the future cruise credit to $200 and actually credited my card $200. They did not advise the reservation dept. that they issued the credit. So it all works out to the $200 pp/$400 total......
