Statendam

Tell me all about the Statendam. All the pros and cons. I've booked the Infinity to Hawaii and HAL has the Statendam but it's quite a bit more but I do like HAL.

I was booked on Infinity to Hawaii and right before final payment was due, HAL offered a sale which made them very comparable so we switched. I haven't sailed on X, so I can't compare, but I KNOW I love HAL so it wasn't a hard decision. Maybe HAL will offer a sale for your date and you can do the same. Happy Sailing!

Sailed on Statendam to Hawaii four times and to Mexican Riveria once. No complaint:) s. Excellent service. Ready to book again for Hawaii or Mexico.

How is DH? I have friend still booked on the X sailing. I tried to get her to switch but she didn't want to change. I hope she enjoys her cruise as much as I will onboard the Statendam. Let me know how you like the Oosterdam. Happy Sailing!

I wish HAL would lower their prices. A comparable room aboard HAL to HI is $2,000 more.

Loved the Oosterdam-Alaska - wonderful! Course I am new to cruising but it will be hard to beat HAL from all that I've read.

You invariably get what you pay for - perhaps you should try the other line -nobody can make the decision for you.

We've read rave reviews about other lines - tried them and were not impressed - HAL for us is the best - you'll never know until you try!

I have been on the Statendam three times and she is one of my favorite ships. She is now about 12 years old but I hope to sail her again in the fall of 2005. Have a great cruise on this fine ship.
