Is it true that Disney allows you to bring alcohol onboard for room consumption?
We like to sit on our balcony and have a nice bottle of wine before dinner. I would rather spend the money on a good bottle of wine, instead of a way over priced mediocre bottle of wine.

Yes, it is absolutely true. You will have no problems at all bringing on wine for onboard consumption. Enjoy. :)

Some cruisers have even said they take their own glass of wine to dinner thus avoiding the corkage fee that DCL charges for wine not purchased onboard.

Not just in your own room, anywhere. I brought a couple of four-packs of Guiness aboard because I didn't know if they had it aboard. (they do) I walked all over the ship with them.

You have to pay a $20.00 fee to bring alchol on board. It is called an uncorking fee. I believe that applies even if you uncork the bottle. Call ahead and ask.

The corkage fee ONLY applies if you bring the bottle of wine to the dinning room. We broght a bottle of vodka on board as well as a 12 pack of beer. No problem. You do not have to hide it. We carried ours on, in our carry-on bags.
Also DCL now has FREE soft drinks!!!They added soda machines to the 24 hour drink station.
