how dose cancelling a shore excertion after 10 days prior to departure? It says it is added to your ship board account but what happens if you can't make it to the cruise last min and have to cancel?

If you couldnt make it due to an illness and you had insurance it would be covered, dont know about the other ways!

If for some reason you are not able to make your cruise, you will be able to cancel your shore excursions and the credit will go back to your credit card. HAL will have a record of your cruise cancellation. Once you get that number write to or e-mail the address that is listed on the copy that was sent to you from shore excursions.

We actually booked a shore excursion online prior to our cruise, and then reconsidered and cancelled it while on the cruise. We were refunded, on to our shipboard account, the cost of the shore excursion less a 10% cancellation charge.

We may be taking our first HA cruise, and there will be nine of us. We are all experienced cruisers with RCI, Princess and other cruise lines. We have booked shore excursions online ahead of time BUT our cc cards were never charged until we were onboard. We could ALWAYS cancel up until booking closure time - usually 24 hours before excursion time. Does HA have a different policy???

Bucky-

Yes HAL requires payment with a credit card at time of booking. They will refund your payment if you cancel prior to 24 hours before the tour generally, but the refund will be credited to your on board account less 10% cancellation fee which they imposed on the Ryndam this last July. Hope this helps.
