TODAY Will Be The FIRST Web Cam Banner Wave of The Season on The Oosterdam @ 3 PM

Good Morning HAL Board CCers today is the first Web Cam Banner Wave of the Season on the Oosterdam and we have quite the well know group of CCers that are all very much looking forward to getting on board. The Banner has been handed over to Cathi from this weeks Roll Call to take on board the Oosterdam today:) The Web Cam appears to be fixed and working well so we should get some great pictures of this weeks Wave.

So stayed tuned for 3 PM Pacific time this afternoon.

Now if the ladies of the Olivia Charter would just hurry up and get off the Oosterdam we can get this cruise started :D

Hello from beautiful San Diego:D We will be boarding with Cathy and a lot more happy Oosterdam Cruisers!!! The Holiday Inn has been a fantatstic place to be pre cruise and if the "O" had come in any farther this morning she would be in our room:D

We are anxiously awaiting time to board so we can begin our cruise and we are all so happy we get to do a BANNER WAVE:D Thanks Lisa and Peggy:)

We walked across the street after breakfast to get a few pictures and spoke with a few folks getting off the ship, they said it was a great cruise:)

Now it's our turn, WOO HOO:D

On our roll call for the Ryndam 11/21 sailing it was asked how do you set up the wave. It is a good question, do you just show up at the front of the ship at 3:00 or does it have to be coordinated with the crew?
Gary and Suzy, we will do your web cam from the Bow which is the easiest place on both the S and R class ships. To get to the Bow, just go into the showroom and go over to the far right starboard side and walk forward , it appears you are heading toward the back stage but you will see a door go thru it and then you will be in another small area with another big door that leads out to the bow. Go out there at about 2:50 to meet other CCers. Depending on what the web cam is doing that day most likely go toward the front of the bow. I can capture the waves better if youstand in a line with about 2 feet between each of you. With the deck being a bit darker it is easier to see the arms in the air waving with space between each of you.:) I have been in contact with Cruz-OR so we are set up for that Friday. I will also come into your Roll Call and explain what to do :)

Good to see the Oosterdam back into SD for the first offical wave of her Mexico seasons. Great picture Lisa. Wonder who is with her, bet one of our CCer's knows. Would this be a Princess ship?

Kind of like the Sapphire camera view, not for closeups but pretty cool for seeing the Oosterdam sitting between the skycrapers of SD.

Melodie, I have actually been in port when there was 3 ships and the 3rd is docked on the other side of the Navy carrier so they have a bit of a walk. Next week will be of course the Oosterdam with the Carnival Spirit and I think the Carnival Elation but definitely two Carnival ships with us. I would assume that the Oosterdam will get her normal berth.

It looks to be a beautiful day in San Diego, I spoke with Kristy a little while ago and she sd that it was nice but a bit cool and breezy I am sure a lot like Las Vegas today except maybe a bit warmer sincee it is only 57 degrees here.

I want to Thank Peggy aka cruznon for adding more spaces to sign on the back of the Banner and getting it to Cathy this week so she could bring it on board. Of course I also want to Thank Holland America for allowing us to do this and safe keeping the Banner for us to get from the Hotel Managers Office every week.


It felt so good to finally do the Oosterdam's Wave and I know they will all have a great week on board the Beautiful MS Oosterdam.

Coming Up Next week is the "Wine a Bit You Will Feel Better" Cruisers and I will be one of those Waving from the Deck 5 Balcony over looking the Bow!!!

Sorry, I was busy trying to capture the wave here is the link I use but I will also make a comment that I have found on numerous occaisions that when several people are trying to access the web cam at the same time it tends to freeze up and or I cannot capture the wave because it will not refresh which slightly happened today. It had been refreshing quickly till when we were doing the wave and it was obvious that many were watching the web cam and it took forever to refresh a new picture. So just a word of warning I know everyone loves to watch but since I have them on the phone and telling them when to wave so I can capture the wave if everyone can refrain from watching right at 3:o That way I can capture the pictures and be able to post them for all to see.

Great wave today saw it while it was going on. Great pictures Lisa, you always seem to get closer then I can. But look I capture those lucky Oosterdamers doing the their boat drill, too cool... won't be long and they will be doing their sailaway.....wish we were there........

Now all that is left to get ready is to make it thru the next 5 days at work and pack:)
