We are booked in 6047 and wondered how obstructed these rooms are with the life boats?

You will know if the sun is out, that is about it. The lifeboat blocks most of the window. You can see down to the deck below, but not out.

Thanks for your reply ...I thought it may have just missed the last life boat.

We are booked in 6047 and wondered how obstructed these rooms are with the life boats? I have the same question about cabin 6049 in which we are booked for Southeast Asia in Januaray. I know you can't rely on the deckplan, but it did look like it wasn't as obstructed as some. Comments?

As far as the obstructed staterooms go on deck 6, #6030 and #6033 are the least obstructed.

************* Thanks. It seemed that those cabins were not really amidships, so I did not consider them.

We have posted a couple of pictures of the first and last cabins with obstructed view, as taken from the Promenade Deck. Look under Ship Details and Dailies.

Thanks, guys.
The Quest laundry room is on deck 7, port side, just forward of the elevator/stair case. Inside room across from #7076. That seems to be standard on the R-ships.

Ahhhh.... seeing the picture brings back fond memories. We had the most fun doing laundry, the room was full and I brought my own beverage and had a great visit. It s almost as much fun as the meet and greet. I look upon everything I do as an opportunity to make a new friend.

It's almost as good as the proverbial water cooler.

We enjoyed unobstructed view from #6071 with balcony on the Journey last Christmas/New Years 'round Cape Horn.

If the Journey and Quest are the same deck plans then the obstructed views are really quite awful. It's not the obstruction but these cabins are much smaller then any others and the head of the beds go forward to back of the ship because of their small size. We took a cat 8 stateroom because the cat 7 are obstructed and it's a down grade for more money.

The category 7 staterooms are 143 square feet. They are the smallest staterooms, and they do not have a sofa.

Thanks for the replies I have checked out of this room . Too small and too big of a boat obstructing . There are great pictures on this roll call as well. Does anyone know which staff are onboard? Cruise director, food and beverage mgr,Captain, hotel mgr? etc.

Thank you for the laundry information. I will be on the Quest for 42 days and did not look forward to ship laundry service.

That's why I believe the cat 8 with a porthole at 170 sq. ft. are a better cabin and value.

Funny that Azamara thinks the cat 7 is an upgrade from cat 8. They keep on putting me back into the same room...6047. I will change out when I get to the ship. Looks like still 50 some rooms available and nothing sold this week at all. Sign of slow times???

Exactly. They offer a GTY for Cat 8 but they really just want to fill up cat 7.

I guess every thing is a learned experience. Had I known this i might not have gone for thr gty. They tell me the computor pics the room not a person so they cannot help me.

I have done that 2 times now ..there are no more cat 8 and there haven't been for a while now. I let them know I felt it was a downgrade being 143 sq ft and no sofa! But they just put me back into the pool. I am not worried there are 50+ rooms still unsold on this ship I should be able to get something on the ship.

You're doing the best that can be done by putting yourself back into the pool. I have a Cat 8 cabin on Quest and told them do not upgrade me to Cat 7 because I feel it's a down grade.

How many washers and how many dryers are there?
I usually send out my slacks and blouses, but I like to wash my pj's and undies myself.
We are booked on a transatlantic in Dec. for 15 days and I am sure I will need to wash several times.
