 Can you carry on some bottled water and diet coke? We always do on Princess, but wondered about Holland America.
Also, is there 24-hour room service or always available food like on Princess? We really don't know what to expect.
Thanks! :)

HAL has diet Coke available. If your reason for wanting to bring your own is a fear you won't be able to get what you like then worry not!
Caffeine free diet Coke is also readily available.

Returned less than a week ago from Circle Hawaii criuse on Statendam.
I brought on board with me bottled water (I easily go through a liter a day) and Gatorade mix (I've yet to find Gatorade on any cruise ship). Knew bottled water on board would be a rip-off price (and it was). Wish I had brought Coca-Cola on board, as I must not (medical reason) consume Nutrasweet-type artificial sweeteners and the Coca-Cola on board was brought on in Canada. Canadian Coca-Cola is made with real sugar as opposed to American Coca-Cola which is made with high fructose corn syrup and tastes *different* - not necessarily better or worse, just different. I find that I can't tell if they've mistakenly given me Diet CC if the Regular CC is Canadian, so I ended up having purchased the 'soda stamp' before boarding, then disliking the fountain soda very much (meaning I didn't get much value out of the soda stamp and resorting to drinking ginger ale. Since my main reason for drinking soda in the first place is caffeine, that didn't delight me. Bought some US CC in the first port in Hawaii!
