An opportunity for us to cruise on the Eurodam just came up. The problem is we are booked on the Westerdam around the same time. Both are Jan. cruises.
The Westerdam cruise has a great itinerary for us to Aruba and Curacao and we were really looking forward to going somewhere new. Half Moon Cay will have the Noordam there when we are and all the cabanas are booked.
The Eurodam itinerary we've done before although there are cabanas available at Half Moon Cay and its the Eurodam!
Cost and cabins are the same.
Which cruise should we take? Although I'm inclined to believe there is no wrong decision here.

I would decide on itinerary. It seems the Westerdam's inclusion of Aruba and Curacao is a plus for you. So I'd go that route. Save Eurodam for another time; but do sail her. She's a wonderful ship.

The inclusion of Aruba and Curacao are a plus, but the ship is as important to us as the itinerary and from what we've read about the Eurodam it seems to be a pretty big plus.....thus the quandry?

Two considerations:

What would annoy you more - being on the Westerdam wishing you were on the brand-spanking-new Eurodam, or doing the Eurodam's itinerary knowing you could be in Aruba and Curacao?
When will your next cruise be, if any, and will you be able to cruise to Aruba/Curacao or take the Eurodam at that point? At the end of the day, it's a classic ship-versus-itinerary debate, and only you know what is more important to you.

I am going on the Westerdam in January also.Have been on her before-very nice ship-and have been to Aruba and Curacao before on the Volendam. They told us to be up early to see the ship come in to port becasue it was so lovely-and it totally was.One of the prettiest ports in my opinion.I would certainly choose based on itinerary.Unless it was another cruise line that I don't like.

Aruba and Curacao -- that is a no brainer for us -- that is the cruise we would take.

Take the Westerdam. The E-dam is a very nice ship, but she isn't anything special. The Aruba/Curacao itinerary is special.

Go have fun on Aruba and Curacao! You can always book Eurodam in the future

Another vote for Aruba and Curacao. Two of my most favorite ports in the Caribbean.

I totally agree. Aruba and Curacao are very nice ports. These were the 2 Caribbean ports we wanted to return to someday out of all the places we have been.

Thanks for the input. Seems like itinerary trumps ship.

Willemstad, Curacao is a World Heritage site. Aruba has the beautiful Palm Beach. We just did this cruise. The Westerdam is a classy ship.
