I just checked Hal's website for my shore excursion options for our upcoming cruise. We have purchased the green cabana and it did say that we have it. However it also showed under the tour name-waitlisted. Does anyone know what this means? Did anyone have this also show up? Thanks

Yes, it showed available when we booked it then waitlisted. So my sister called HAL and they said that they are all booked and we are waitlisted for the first available one. Then several weeks later, I called them and they told me that we are just waitlisted for the one we requested (turquoise) and not for all of them and that all we could do was check periodically and see if one becomes available but then again, when we booked it it showed available so I am not sure what good that would do us. I would call them if I were you and please let me know what they tell you. I could request each and every one but they require a credit card and the way my luck is lately, we would end up with all of them!

Has anyone asked them if the cabanas are in existence?

And if they were all destroyed by the hurricanes, when will they all be rebuilt?

You know KK I wondered about that and didn't ask but I would think that when she said "they are all booked" it would have been a good opportunity to tell me that they are waitlisting until they know if they can be reserved. But then maybe HAL just "booked" them all so no one else could until they can fully assess the situation and the woman I spoke to didn't know, all she knew was that we were waitlisted....could be.

We booked the turquoise cabana over the phone in July and paid for it with Visa for our 11/7 cruise. When recently looking at shore excursions on the HAL website I, too, noticed we were marked "waitlisted". I called and was told it was because we had booked it with Ship's Services and now it's with Shore Excursions, but not to worry ... we definitely have it.

Still, the next time I went online to HAL I saw it still said waitlisted and called again to speak with the Shore Excursion desk. She told me no question that we had it. She cross double checked it to be certain. At that point I told her I was uncomfortable about it and took her name. I pulled my Visa bill, made a copy, wrote her name and highlighted the charge by HAL.

Finally, Florence (at the Shore Excursion desk) gave me a Confirmation # for the cabana reservation which I wrote on my bill as well. I am taking this with me with my other documents. But I was told I should "completely ignore" the "waitlisted" notation.

Also, according to Florence, the cabanas are fine:rolleyes: . We shall see.

That's just messed up I say. Why would it show waitlisted? I really want the cabana but if we don't get it, oh well but I sure would like to know.

Had the same thing happen to us.:eek: It's a glitch in the system, and you do have the cabana reserved. I spoke to Ship Services after seeing the "waitlisted" status and they told me not to worry, it's a problem evidently with the shore excursion data base. I am going to bring my letter from Ship Services confirming our booking just so there is no problem.:cool:

I spoke to Ship Services after seeing the "waitlisted" status and they told me not to worry, it's a problem evidently with the shore excursion data base. I am going to bring my letter from Ship Services confirming our booking just so there is no problem.:cool:
They have told us twice that we do not have it reserved. But I think KK might be correct, they are a little concerned confirming people right now since they don't know what kind of shape the cabanas are in. They need to fix the website if that is the case.

You're one step ahead of us, but we do have the Confirmation #.

Gretchen, that may be true ... but they told me the cabanas are absolutely fine and they sure had no problem taking my $$$!!!:D Did they take your money?

Gretchen, if they took your money, then my guess is it is reserved and you are talking with screwy people. They only take your money when the cabana is available. Otherwise, they'd be having to refund hundreds of $$$.

When you get back, tell me if the turquoise one was still there!!!

Our pink cabana reservation for 11/15 also reflects waitlisted. But...it's the right color and we have a confirmation number and amex bill reflecting our payment. made the reservation about 45 days ago.

we should all know for sure what shape the island is in and if the cacanaa are ok from s7s, she is scheduled to be there this friday I believe.
