I am set to sail on the Ryndam on November 1st. When I go into look at my booking it still shows GUAR as the room number. How long does HAL normally wait before assigning cabins?

Although rare, some folks don't know their cabin number until they check in at the pier. Most likely, you'll find an assignment within a week or so.

I sympathize with you as we are on the Eurodam Nov 15th and also are still showing a GUAR. I have checked both HAL's and my TA's web site and both are showing the cruise as sold out. I can't understand why they haven't assigned me a cabin.

Hopefully both of us will be happy with the cabin when HAL gets around to assigning us one.

Have a great next cruise.

We are going on The Eurodam on November 1st and we got assigned a cabin today. Not much of an upgrade though. we had an H and we got a GG but I'll take it:)

There is no such thing as normal. Many travel agencies are advising their clients that they will receive their cabin assignment, at check-in, regardlessof cruise line, to manage expectations and phone calls.

You may not find out until you arrive at the pier.

We sail next Tuesday on the Noordam and had booked a 'guarantee' back in July...the documents came about a month ago and after constantly checking HAL's website for the last 3 weeks we finally got our stateroom number last Wed. So keep checking...but for our Ryndam cruise this past April...we didn't get assigned till we checked in at the pier. Seems to be no rhyme or reason on when you will get your stateroom assignment with a 'guarantee'.
Happy sailing!

The wait is awful, but it adds to the excitement in a sense...

We are a few weeks after you, but so looking forward to our trip on the Ryndam...

Good luck with your allocation...

Something to think about, I have been told that the longer it takes to get your cabin assignment the better possibility for an upgrade. Wish you luck!

I can't understand why they haven't assigned me a cabin. Most of our cabin assignments came around 18 days before sailing, but one didn't come until 3 days out.

I keep checking every day, the suspense is killing me. I guess I will just keep hoping for the upgrade.

We just got an upsell offer from a "C" to an "A" today from our TA. Our Veendam Cruise sails Nov. 1, and has been showing "sold out." We were suprised, and took the offer. Good luck with the upgrade fairy!

For our cruise in June, we got the assignment in late May. We got a huge (to me) upgrade, from an inside guarantee to an outside on the promenade deck (on Zaandam). We were thrilled, but the wait was a little unnerving, but hey the important thing is that you will be on the ship!

We're on the Eurodam Nov.1st and received our stateroom assignment today. What a surprise from VE Guarantee to V.:D It's our 19th cruise but first with Hal. Maybe they'd like us back so we better behave.;)

8 days till I sail and still no assignment. Keeping my fingers crossed for the upgrade. :)
