We purchased a Future Cruise Deposit during our 21 day panama cruise in 2007. We are using it for a 7 day cruise in Feb 2009. Are the Future Cruise Deposits offered during the shorter cruises, like our 7 Day Mexican Riveria cruise?
Hope so, using the one we have has been a good experience. We originally put it down on a 28 day europe cruise, has since decided to hold off on seeing europe at this point, then had our TA move the deposit over to the 7 day'r in Feb 2009 - happended in minutes, no hassle...love it!

Yes.
There will be a future cruise consultant aboard for your seven day cruise and you can buy future cruise credits while on your cruise.

This was a plus when HAL decided to have cruise consultants on all ships no matter the length of cruise.

I agree that the Future Cruise Consultants are a big plus. We bought another Open Deposit while aboard Westerdam ... it's good for four years and using that $200 as total cruise deposit for the next cruise is great for the budget.

And it means that we keep more of our money in the bank (trying to collect interest:D ) rather HAL collecting interest!!

Yep ... absolutely. AND the onboard credit you get as a bonus for booking while onboard is great, too!
