We just came back from a great first time cruise to Alaska... at the crew farewell party, the coordinator read out his top 10 list of questions that people on the cruise had actually approached him with on our trip - we sure had a good laugh:
1. What is the current elevation of the ship?
2. Are our TV's connected by cable or satellite?
3. Do these stairs go up or down?
4. Are the waves in the pool artificial?
5. Do the crew sleep on board?
6. What do you do with the ice carvings after they melt?
7. Is that island completely surrounded by water?
8. (On the last nite) Do I put my luggage out in the hall before or after I go to sleep?
9. What time do you feed the whales?
10. What time of the year do the deer turn into elk?
Even though the Ryndam was scheduled for re-fitting in Victoria at the end of our trip and could have used a little polishing up, we had so much fun. The crew was incredible - we became so attached to our steward and dining room table crew they all seemed like family. I just hated to get off at the end of the cruise. I think I've finally found my mission in life: CRUISING!:D
