Please help me with a decision regarding which cabin to choose AFT!!!
We spend a lot of time out on our Balcony - so a large balcony is very important. Also has anyone noticed noise at the back of the ship (other than the wake)?
Thanks.

I have not sailed a Vista style ship as of yet, but will be on the Zuiderdam in March. The Zuiderdam and Westerdam are sisters ships so their layouts will be similar.

We have 5 girls sailing so what we did was to booked cabins 5187 and 5185, one is a suite and the other an A category cabin. We wanted a large balcony as well, that's why we chose those cabins. Its my understanding that the suite's balcony is very large and wraps around the side as well. You may want to look into this area for an aft suite. Hope this helps.

Our experience doesn't make us an expert but we just completed our shortest cruise ever...1 night on the Oosterdam from Seattle to Vancouver.

We were upgraded to an A aft verandah cabin on Rotterdam deck.
It was great as I really like the swish of the wake and the verandah was large. It had two regular chairs, a third with a stool and one lounge.

The only downside is that they are not private as the people on the pool deck can look down into the verandah. I believe the verandah on the cabin abve is entirely uinder the overhang but I am not sure of its size.

Hope this helps.

We recently were in cabin 8122 on the Navigation Deck of the Zuiderdam (sister to Westerdam). This was our first AFT cabin, and hopefully not our last.
Navigation deck is right under the Lido deck, therefore nobody could look onto our balcony which is the case for all decks below. So it was very private.
The balcony was VERY large. We had 2 teak loungers, one rattan sofa and ottoman, one rattan chair and a small table. The only noise we'd hear was around 7pm when the crew would put the Lido deck loungers away - but that lasted 15-20 minutes, and was really no big deal. Other than that, the only sound is that of the ocean (and sometimes your neighbours!!).
We really enjoyed that cabin and balcony and would try to book it again.
The view is also great - amazing sunsets!!
Hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as we have!
