Hello, everyone! I'm back at work today (we stayed a day in Athens) and am covered up ... so I'll just take a minute or two for now. I got all our pix (some 1100 between the two of us  ) archived, so will work on them ASAP to get them onto a website for you all to see. I always like to get them backed up first thing before I start tinkering with them. That way I can't screw them up!

It was a wonderful cruise. Weather perfect in every sense. Ports very interesting. The ship was in good shape ... although we did have problems for about a day with non-flushing toilets. From what I gather, some nit-wit ignored all the warnings and tried to send something down the tubes that shouldn't have gone there.

We took 3 ship tours but did the other ports on our own. Most are very easy to get around in. In Rhodes, we hopped a local cab at the pier and got to lots of places for 40 Euros plus tip. Much cheaper than other methods. He also took us to a family-operated pottery factory (small) where my DW found just what she'd been looking for for two weeks. She was happy ... so I was happy! ;)

We toured Rome (Claudio himself -- outstanding) with Cactuslady, dwkoester and their mates ... and Athens with Cactuslady and her DH. Very good tours. Athens was with Mikos from Spiros' service. He was accommodating to our wishes ... but I personally felt he was too vocal in his politics. Lots of ethnic prejudice came through, too. Just didn't seem appropriate under those circumstances.

I've mentioned most everything else of note in my musings posted enroute. If you have any specific questions, fire away.

Reality bites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Bruce and I are back, too. We arrived about lunchtime on Tuesday, after leaving Athens on Monday morning. Missed our connection at JFK and had to stay "overnight" (well, we had to get up at 2:30 a.m. to catch the rebooked flight). The stangest thing -- after going through 8 countries, we found the least understandable foreign accents, worst food, craziest drivers and dirtiest toilets right in the U.S.

I posted a quick review of our cruise just a bit ago.
Things are great back home. I'm getting over the ship's epidemic of the sniffles. The weather has cooled down to the low 90s and is just beautiful. The pool is sparkling. Dee-Dee greyhound is back home and happy as can be. I got back to the office and learned that I got two court rulings in my client's favor in a couple of cases. The ouzo candy from Greece was a big hit with the office crowd.

We won't talk about what the scale said when I got on it this morning.

We felt the exact same way after spending the night in Manhatten a few years ago. After visiting Casablanca & Tangiers, among other places! :)

Ev-that is too funny, having spent a year in Turkey! That is one aspect that no amount of advance warning will adequately prepare you for! :)
