Hi all,
I have 2 questions for you HAL regulars,
1. Can we use an old soda card on our April cruise or do they change them each year? My son didn't use all of it and I actually found it cleaning out a drawer yesterday.
2. How is the bedding on Westerdam? We are in an SY and I usually bring my own pillow but if they have a nice mushy/fluffy down type one I won't need to do so. Are the beds pillow top and comfy? Sheets soft??
Thanks,
A:D

The SY categories on Westerdam have a variety of pillow choices available--from firm to down. If what is in your cabin doesn't meet your needs, just ask your steward. We didn't have any down pillows in our cabin (6111) when we boarded so we asked our room steward for them and they were there when the bed was turned down that evening:D We thought the bedding, from mattress to sheets, was very comfortable. And I do like my high TC sheets ;-)

I had a coffee card that I did not use on one cruise and they would not accept it. Something about this cruises totals would not match the coffee sold on the present cruise. Duh!

Well, someone left a half-used cocktail card in the bible in our cabin (THANK YOU!!) and we used it just fine on our Westerdam cruise. We didn't tell anyone we didn't buy it on our cruise, and no one asked us....

I used a soda card left over from the Volendam on the Zaandam three months later. Not a hint of a problem. :D
The longer you go the harder it might be, as the design could change. Try it. What have you got to lose?

HAL's beds are one of the main reasons it is our cruise line of choice. DH is very picky about beds due to back problems, and he is perfectly happy with HAL's. If you have slept on Westin's "Heavenly Bed" or Hyatt's "Grand Bed" that will give you a general idea. HAL's don't have quite as many little frou-frou pillows, but the quality of the mattresses and linens is comparable.
Can't help with the soda card issue - sorry.

If you use a card purchased on one cruise on another, please be aware that the Beverage Service Charge that was levied was pooled on the cruise the the card was purchased (purchased for). This means that the normal compensation for servers attached to the use of the card does not apply.

Thanks everyone for your help! The bedding sounds great and I will bring the soda card along just in case. I'm excited and it's still 6 months away!!!:D
