Cruise Vacation Club in the future?

We sailed the Amsterdam in July and there was an optional focus group we were asked to participate in. An outside agency was there to poll us and see our reactions to a potential new product that Holland America might be offering in the future. Details were quite vague and in the development stage so please do not expect any details from me. They were videotaping our reactions and questions.

It sounded like you bought a membership at different levels and had so many points that came with it. These points could be spent on cruises and some land based vacations. They showed us 3 different sample portfolios and we voted for our favorites. There were a lot of questions they asked us and the session lasted about an hour. Please remember that they NOT trying to sell us anything... only getting our reactions for a potential future product. I know there was quite a bit of golf based options in the land resorts. Too much for my taste! But the cruise portion sounded interesting!

By the way.. for motivation for participation they had a drawing for a free cruise (I did not win ) They also gave us some HAL key chains or mouse pads.

Did anyone else have sessions like this on their sailings?

This is the first that I have heard of it as well.

Since we will soon be a long cruise and will have a cruise consultant on board, it will be interesting to see if anything like will take place on the Statendam.

When we were on the Zuiderdam in July, there was also a focus group you could participate in. I was interested in participating, but was unable to make the final contact with the person booking the different groups. It would have been very interesting to attend.
